Could you expand a bit on the technique from the former Soviet Union? I know they were way ahead in using dowsing for water and mineral prospecting. (I've seen a dowsing rod, U-shape with a tuning antenna that could be adjusted for various minerals and search for it and couldn't find it anywhere. )

Chris, it sounds to me like you're describing a "lecher antenna" - Somewhere on my comp. I have plans & freqs. for using it, too...I'll try to find & post - on the cleansing, I've tried many different ways & it seems to me that just holding your pendulum under running tap water works pretty well. I have a thick wire that's embedded into a tree outside, coming in that I attach to myself for grounding - I don't dowse during thunderstorms, though  Blessings, NL

I've heard of using a 'willow branch.' Anyone else heard of that one?

I've heard of using willow branches for dowsing, usually for water veins - I haven't heard of using them for cleansing other dowsing tools, though...

I made a bit of mistake while cleansing my new Baj pendulums. Following the Diana Stein book, I placed them in salt for a week. There is black tarnish all over the pendulums now.

I am getting a Quickshine Brass and Copper bath soln which hopefully should remove the tarnish otherwise I might have ruined my new pendulums with my stupidity.

Thanks

Welcome riws, Although I have never heard of cleansing a pendulum in just salt, I think that you shouldn't have a problem, once you use the Brass & Copper solution. Best of Luck to you. Blessings, NightLighter

Hello Zack,

From my own experience - anything can be embedded with other types of vibrations (on the sub-atomic level everything vibrates!). I guess there might be a few different types of "energy contamination" that we deal with here.

When it comes to pendulums to overcome the remnance (or remanence) - in most cases it's enough to knock it a few times (some say odd number, but I don't find it true) on the hard edge of the table or such. (Energy pendulums like the Isis or the Karnak don't require neutralizing or energy cleansing).

To neutralize the string - you can slowly run the blunt (dull) side of a knife or any metal object with high iron content.

The simplest method yet is to hold the pendulum (or other object) in your hand and ... ask to be neutralized from any vibrations it picked up (you may specify non-beneficial or those that may interfere with your dowsing). That's it!
Of course it would be nice if somebody else could verify it :D

One more thing: many people recommend using sea salt - never ever use wet salt or salt solution for your crystal as you may ruin them!

So was I mistaken in thinking that the Super SIx clears itself as well?

Hello, your "clearing" questions and comments are intresting and caused me to inquire about the degree of need to clear my pendulums. I got 0. I think it can be done if needed, with your intent. Perhaps the way in which a dowsing session is ended might have something to do with it. Kyanite(probably mispelled), is supposed to clear gem stones. If you can put a self cleaning mental water filter on a waterline that works, then why could you not make your tools self cleaning??? 61154

I think for the most part, Chris said it best -

The Super Six is, in fact, an "Isis" pendulum, so indeed, it is self-clearing, Otter

I have heard of placing quartz & other gemstone pendulums in the sunlight or moonlight for a minimum of a half hour to charge & neutralise them. I also recommend holding them under some cool running water, too... Kyanite, I've heard, is the most "neutral" of all gemstones - so that makes sense. As far as creating your own pendulum clearing program, that sounds like a great idea, albeit a bit more complex than the water filter, IMO. But, if carefully worded, with the right intentions, I see no reason why that wouldn't work fine...Blessings, NL

I think that a good part of the problem is that metal
does wear out. As much as it is hard to part with it,
usually there is only a limited life span. Brass, an
especially soft metal does tend to lose bits and pieces of itself. In the time between buying it and
it's demise, there are various cleaning methods. Usually the fastest way is wiping with a damp cloth. If it's severely discolored, most get out the brass-o or other metal polish. i can't see that divining rods
would be different than any other metal decor or accessory. Belts and lighting fixtures... my mom has
polished brass for hours and hours (maybe that's
why I chose copper for my rods). Seriously, I would
look into ordinary maintenance before getting extreeme with the burrying by a tree and junk... :) tracefromks.
